Overview
This laid back Tarzino filly has arrived safely at Highline Thoroughbreds in Cambridge, following the Karaka Sales, and has settled in very well. She has quickly found her groove in the new environment, is easy to handle and will go to the breakers in early March. She is ready to do something early with her relaxed attitude.
This girl is heading to the big smoke, destined for a Spring into Autumn 3-year old campaign in Sydney, where she will target classic mile plus races for fillies, kicking off in the spring and working towards the Vinery and Australian Oaks at Randwick in April, she will go to Joe Pride in February 2026, following pre-training and a couple of jump-outs around Auckland.
This filly would suit an owner who wants a horse trained by Joe Pride (who is in high demand) and has dreams of winning an Australian oaks. Over the years, he has done a terrific job with fillies and older mares. She was well priced, bought out of Karaka book one, and will not be an expensive horse to get a good share in.
The Horse Herself
To sum this filly up, I would say she has the pedigree and relaxed nature to stay over ground. She is by Tarzino out of a young So You Think mare. She won’t be small and has good length about her and good length of leg.
Conformation wise, she is well put together. She will grow to be about 16.0 hands and sit at 500kg racing weight as a 3-year old. She is strong through the middle (girth), a physical attribute we look for in yearlings. Her joints and legs are typical of the dam sire So You Think and she has great flex in her fetlocks and tidy knees. When asking Russell Warwick, of Westbuy Stud his opinion of her, he said three words. Oaks, Oaks, Oaks.
Why Did Kingmakers Buy Her?
Simply put, we bought her to go to Joe Pride in Sydney, to aim for the Australian Oaks or Queensland Oaks. We purchased her for a good price (being a first foal) but she has plenty of strength and substance, a good length and plenty of leg under her to develop into a filly big enough to go over ground. When parading she oozed so much of the dam sire, So You Think - which we loved. A High Chaparral bloodline, often too expensive to purchase, we thought we would get our chance with this filly through the dam’s sire.
In summary, this filly was bought from Karaka's Book One Yearling Sale, Lot 182. She is out of a young mare and we think this genetic cross is new ground. Her temperament will take her a long way - hopefully 2400m in under 2.30.00.
