Benefits of Smaller Syndicates

1. Get to know everyone.

In syndicates limited to 10 you’ll get to know everyone properly, form lasting friendships and enjoy a decent share of success.

2. Have all opinions heard.

Aligning owners in smaller syndicates makes it easy to share opinions, debate decisions, and make sure all voices are heard.

3. Everyone’s equally important.

As a smaller group of owners, managing tickets and hospitality on race days will be much fairer and easier.

Shares Syndicates Kingmakers Syndication 2
10% Advanced Share

Gives new or existing owners a big enough investment to profit if the selected horse wins good stakes and/or gets traded offshore. This unit suits a more serious owner who is familiar with the racing game. Average cost at this percentage is $450 per month, all cost included. A ten percent share is usually the most common stake taken in a horse by an owner.

5% Select Share

A smaller unit for owners who may have multiple shares in different racehorses. A nice unit for the person who likes to have one or two horses racing every Saturday over the racing calendar. This level of investment keeps up a strong interest in the sport and increases the chance of owning a super star on the New Zealand or Australian tracks. Average monthly cost is $225 NZD per share.

2.5% Novice Share

Kingmakers smallest share offered is best suited to the newcomer, who might be risk adverse but loves to be involved. This share works for a new owner keen to meet new people and enjoy ownership as an avenue for socialising. There are usually only two units of 2.5% per syndicate.

Australian Financial Considerations

Kingmakers’ syndicated horses may end up being transferred to Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne and your monthly costs per share may increase. The live syndicate kitty will be managed in a way where import costs, including stud book fees, import GST and flights, will be covered if the decision is made to send the horse to Australia to race. From the day of arrival, monthly costs may go up to an average of $700 NZD per month, per 10% share. If the balance of the kitty is healthy, these increased monthly costs may be subsidised.
