Principal Owner Benefits
Be included in the selection process at the Karaka & Inglis Yearling Sales alongside agents, vets, and stud farms. Watch potential horses parade, circle the ring, then make the final winning bid with your Kingmakers' representative.
Lead the fun process to name your selected horse. Take suggestions from your fellow syndicate owners - which might be just right - but you’ll make the final call.
In a first for racing in New Zealand and Australia, the Principal Owner’s name will be printed on the right hand chest of the silks. You'll be right there!
Heralding New Kingmakers

Principal Ownership
Traditionally, the largest shareholders in a racing syndicate don’t get the recognition they expect from syndicators, trainers, or the media. Despite the substantial financial investment they take on, these majority owners don’t often get any additional privileges. On race days, trainers, breeders, stud farms, and syndicators will take the spotlight when the horse performs. An individuals ambition, investment and success should be respected. Kingmakers makes sure it is.
Leading from the front
We acknowledge the pivotal role the Principal Racehorse Owner plays in the success of the horse and the syndicate. This is our Kingmaker, and we’ll make sure they feel like one, with clear benefits and privileges, respect and recognition. We’ll always value their input and let them take centre stage on course.
The Principal Owner will become a successful and notable personality within the horse racing scene if their horse succeeds at the top. Kingmakers will elevate them as the kingpin and build a suitable group of smaller share owners around them.
